The Nursing Department at the New York State Veterans' Home provides skilled nursing care on 7 units ranging in size from 24 beds to 40 beds per unit, including the rehabilitation unit and the dementia unit. The Department consists of over 200 employees including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Secretaries, Ward Clerks, and and a Per Diem pool.

Our Nursing Department employees range from brand new graduates of Certified Nursing Assistant classes to seasoned employees with over 20 years of service.

We provide educational opportunities for our employees through onsite sessions and by having the flexibility to attend classes elsewhere.
